Join us for the ̽��Ƶ Blood Drive, happening Tuesday, November 11 through Thursday, November 13, in proud partnership with our longtime partner, Vitalant. As we head into the season of giving, what better way to show your gratitude than by giving the gift of life?

At our last blood drive, we hit our goal of collecting 55 units each day- now let’s aim even higher! Join the ̽��Ƶ community in going above and beyond to make an even greater difference. Every donation can help save up to three lives, and your generosity could make all the difference for patients in need over the holidays.

Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. Let’s show what Buffs can do when we give from the heart. Please see the below appointment links for November.

Why: Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Donating blood is a selfless and impactful act of kindness, and each donation can save up to three different lives. Hospitals in the area and medical facilities rely on voluntary blood donors to provide a steady blood supply for medical procedures, surgeries, and emergencies.

We are committed to achieving our blood drive goals and Staff Council is confident that the ̽��Ƶ community will rise to the occasion. With your support and participation, we can surpass our blood drive target of fifty-five units per day and make a remarkable impact with each donation.

How to prepare:

Review eligibility criteria: Donor Eligibility
Eat a healthy meal and stay hydrated before your donation appointment
Bring a valid photo ID
Try and get a good night’s sleep the day before

The Staff Council Blood Drive & Community Service Committee is pleased to partner with Coats for Colorado to host a Fall Coat Drive. From Tuesday, October 21 through Friday, November 21, we invite you to donate new or gently used winter coats in adult and child sizes.

Collection bins, being delivered today, will be conveniently located throughout main campus. Bins will be available in the below locations through 3:00pm on Friday, November 21st and then Staff Council will drop off all collected coats to Dependable Cleaners at the end of the drive.

The series ("Federal Governance and Higher Education: Where Are We and Where Are We Going?”) will continue this year, exploring where higher education stands more than seven months into the second Trump administration, and how universities, academic associations, the courts, Congress, and others are responding to the rapidly changing landscape around us. Two programs will be offered this fall —

Tuesday, September 30: a public Zoom program entitled “The ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ and Beyond: Federal Legislation and Higher Education,”
Tuesday, October 28: an in-person program for CU faculty, staff, and students entitled “Collective Action and Higher Education: Prospects and Perils” — as well as a series of short recorded “whiteboard” presentations by faculty and staff experts.

The series ("Federal Governance and Higher Education: Where Are We and Where Are We Going?”) will continue this year.

Affinity groups are staff- and faculty-led communities that bring colleagues together around shared experiences, interests, or goals. They create opportunities to connect across campus, build supportive relationships, and share resources with one another.

Currently, ̽��Ƶ has 10 active affinity groups, ranging in size from close-knit circles to large networks. Each group offers a unique way to connect with peers, learn from one another, and strengthen our campus culture.

The Basic Needs Center's mobile food pantries are free and open to ̽��Ƶ students, faculty and staff, as well as community members of Boulder and Broomfield counties. Attendees may receive up to 30 pounds of food in multiple boxes.
