  • Plan ahead: Know where you’re going, who you’re with and how you’ll get home.Ìý
  • Set limits: Decide how much you’ll drink or use—and stick to it.Ìý
  • Stay together: Don’t leave friends behind. Check in and regroup if you get separated.Ìý
  • Eat and hydrate: Have a meal before going out and snack throughout the night.Ìý
  • Know your servings: One drink = 1.5 oz liquor, 5 oz wine or 12 oz beer.Ìý
  • Don’t mix: Avoid combining alcohol with prescription or other drugs.Ìý
  • Recognize alcohol poisoning: Learn the signs and how to use the recovery position.Ìý
