A field research facility dedicated to the advancement of mountain environmental science
Located at 2900 m (9500 feet) in the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, the Mountain Research Station is an interdisciplinary facility associated with the Ìýproviding research and educational opportunities for scientists, students, and the general public.

Join us for a guided walk around the MRS campus, with a focus on spring as a season of transition in the subalpine. We will learn about the types of trees that make up the forest on campus, and the creatures utilizing these habitats.Ìý

Join Dr. Scott Taylor for a tour of the blooming orchids that are a symbol of early summer in the subalpine. There is a remarkable diversity of orchids at the MRS, including favorites such as the spotted coralroot and fairy slippers!

Events
You are invited to attend summer seminars on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the historic Megaron building (June-August). Topics range widely and are not restricted to research conducted at the station. Speakers gear their talks towardsÌýa general publicÌýaudience. Additionally, the MRS hosts celebrations, guided walks, and conferences like the Guild of Rocky Mountain Ecologists and Evolutionary Biologists (GREEBs).
