Concentrations
An IDE concentration lets you pursue your passions without the additional cost and time of a second major or minor.Â
- Concentrations can be from within or beyond engineering.
- You can create your own self-directed concentration.
Timeline
IDE majors are required to officially declare a Concentration by the end of their second year at the latest. Students who transfer into the IDE major after their second year must declare a Concentration by the end of their first semester in IDE. Students who have not declared a Concentration before those deadlines will receive a hold on their registration until they declare. Students can initiate the declaration process by emailing or meeting with an IDE Academic Advisor.
Double Counting Credits
- Concentration Credits can overlap with minor, certificate, and/or double-major requirements
- Concentration Credits cannot double-count towards other IDE degree requirements including:
- Emphasis required coursework
- H&SS requirements
- Free elective credits
