FDI's Current Initiatives

The Faculty Data & Impact (FDI) team leads and contributes to campus-wide and ad-hoc projects that strengthen faculty data systems, improve processes, and build tools for faculty and academic leaders.Ìý

The following are some examples of current initiatives underway across campus:

TheÌýHR Blueprint ProjectÌýis a ̽»¨ÊÓƵ campus-wide initiative aims to modernize and streamline HR processes related to faculty, addressing gaps between existing processes and systems and improving consistency in data handling.

The project is a partnership between Campus Human Resources (HR), the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA), and the Office of Information Technology (OIT), with input from stakeholders across campus.

This initiative creates a single, authoritative record of active faculty and their affiliations, serving as the source of truth for the ̽»¨ÊÓƵ Annual Catalog, institutional reporting, and campus planning.

Developed by FDI and OIT to streamline campus reporting and improve access to accurate faculty affiliation data, the project was implemented in collaboration with the Registrar’s Office, the Research & Innovation Office (RIO), and academic units across campus. The Registrar’s Office played a key role by helping transition the academic catalog faculty roster from a manual process to an automated reporting tool.Ìý

The FRPA Transition Project is campus-wide initiative led by the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) and the Office of Information Technology (OIT), focused on modernizing and improving the Faculty Report of Professional Activities (FRPA) platform to better support faculty, academic units, and campus partners.Ìý

As part of this work, FDI collaborates with key stakeholders to align data definitions, streamline reporting processes, and strengthen connections between FRPA data, faculty profiles, and downstream uses such as awards, recognition, and institutional reporting. This project aims to reduce administrative burden while enhancing the accuracy, usability, and impact of faculty data across ̽»¨ÊÓƵ.Ìý
