During a substance use evaluation with Counseling & Psychiatric Services, an evaluator will talk with the student to learn about their background, including their health, mental well-being and social life. This helps the evaluator understand what might protect the student from harm and what could increase their risk. The evaluator uses special tools to assess the situation and may identify any diagnoses. Afterward, the evaluator writes a report that explains the student’s background, any diagnoses found and makes recommendations for next steps.Ìý
