The Red Folder is a quick‑reference guide to help faculty and staff recognize signs of distress, respond appropriately and connect students with campus support.Ìý

Student Outreach, Advocacy & Support (SOAS)Ìý
SOAS helps students navigate challenges and connect with campus resources. Case managers work collaboratively with students to identify concerns, determine next steps and coordinate support, including concerns related to substance use.Ìý

College‑Specific Liaisons
Each college and school has access to dedicated liaisons from Counseling & Psychiatric Services, the Office of Victim Assistance and Health Promotion. Liaisons support faculty and staff through consultation, training, streamlined referrals and collaboration to ensure students are connected to the right resources.

Workshops and PresentationsÌýÌý
Health Promotion provides a variety of presentations and programs to help support students’ overall well-being. Presentations are available for faculty and staff to request and they can be tailored to specific needs. Topics include responding to student substance use, motivational interviewing, overdose prevention and more.ÌýÌý

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP)Ìý
FSAP provides free mental health services for ̽»¨ÊÓÆµ faculty and staff, including brief individual counseling, workshops and referrals to community resources.Ìý

Office of Victim Assistance (OVA)Ìý
OVA offers free, confidential counseling, advocacy, information and referrals for faculty and staff who have experienced trauma, violence, harassment, discrimination or other life‑disruptive events.Ìý

Collegiate Recovery Community (CUCRC)Ìý
CUCRC provides connection, peer support and recovery‑friendly programming for faculty, staff and students who are in recovery or seeking recovery.Ìý

Naloxone (Narcan) and Fentanyl Test StripsÌý
Naloxone is available free of charge to Buff OneCard holders through the Apothecary Pharmacy at Wardenburg Health Center, with additional locations available across Boulder.Ìý

Fentanyl test strips are a free harm‑reduction tool that can help reduce the risk of overdose by detecting the presence of fentanyl in substances before use. Because fentanyl can be present even when it’s not expected, test strips offer an important layer of safety and awareness for individuals who choose to use substances. Fentanyl test strips are available at the third floor desk at Wardenburg Health Center.Ìý

Nicotine Coaching
Health Promotion offers free nicotine cessation coaching, quit kits and support for overcoming cravings. Nicotine patches and gum are also available for purchase at the Apothecary Pharmacy.Ìý

CU NightRideÌý
CU NightRide provides free night‑time transportation for ̽»¨ÊÓÆµ students, faculty and staff.Ìý

Health Insurance PlansÌý
All University of Colorado health insurance plans include coverage for substance use, mental health and behavioral health services.Ìý

Family Medical LeaveÌý
University employees affected by substance dependence are eligible for support and protections under the Family Medical Leave program.Ìý
